Regular Season Round 15: Fukushima - Kumamoto V. 80-94

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Fukushima (6-7) against fourth ranked Kumamoto V. (7-8) on Sunday night. Host Fukushima was defeated by Kumamoto V. in Fukushima 94-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fukushima. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 assists. American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) helped adding 22 points and 19 rebounds. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) with 24 points and 9 rebounds and South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. Fukushima's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kumamoto V. moved-up to third place which they share with defeated Fukushima. Loser Fukushima keeps the third position with seven games lost. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukushima will play against the league's leader Nishinomiya S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
