Regular Season Round 7: Mondragon - Easo 65-54

Round in EBA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Mondragon where host Mondragon (4-1) beat league's leader Easo (5-1) 65-54 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Easo. They outrebounded Easo 40-28 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) fired 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American center Zach Kirschbaum (208-93, college: Trinity Intern.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Asier Azpeitia (192-98) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and center Inigo Sarasola (207-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mondragon maintains fourth place in Group A-A with 4-1 record. Easo at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tarragona. Easo will play next round against Filipenses trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mondragon will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Tabirako in Durango.
