Regular Season Round 7: Granada - Breogan 83-88

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Leche Rio Breogan and 12th ranked CB Granada had identical 3-3 record. But CB Granada was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Lugo 88-83 on Sunday night. Leche Rio Breogan shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a great evening for point guard Christian Diaz (185-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Finnish guard Roope Ahonen (186-90, agency: Blacktop Management) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side American center Earl Watson (201-90, college: URI) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Bosnian-Canadian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St., agency: Agency) scored 21 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Leche Rio Breogan (4-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. CB Granada lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Leche Rio Breogan will face higher ranked Gipuzkoa (#4) in San Sebastian in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CB Granada will play on the road against Ourense (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
