The biggest surprise took place in Los Angeles where host Lakers (5-1) beat league's leader Spurs (4-2) 103-96 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Lakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lakers made 10 blocks. LeBron James (203-84) fired a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. Center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Dejounte Murray (193-96, college: Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Rudy Gay (203-86, college: Connecticut) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lakers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Miami Heat. Spurs at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Philadelphia 76 who have the same record.
