Regular Season Round 7: Faenza - Aurora JE 93-78

There was an upset when 4th placed Aurora JE (4-3) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Faenza (3-4) 93-78 on Sunday. Faenza dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aurora JE's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Aurora JE's players. It was a great evening for guard Simon Anumba (191-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Edoardo Tiberti (205-97) helped adding 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Faenza players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Riccardo Casagrande (196-88) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Faenza moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Aurora JE keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Faenza will face higher ranked Civitanova (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aurora JE will play against the league's leader Piacentina having rather not much hope for a victory.
