Regular Season Round 12: Saga B. - Toyoda Gosei 86-88

The most exciting game of round 12 in the B3 League took place in Saga. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Saga B. (8-4) to first ranked Toyoda Gosei (11-1) 88-86 on Sunday evening. It was a great shooting night for Toyoda Gosei especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. 29 personal fouls committed by Saga B. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Toyoda Gosei's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) replied with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Saga B.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toyoda Gosei have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Saga B. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Iwate Big Bulls. Toyoda Gosei are looking forward to face Iwate Big Bulls (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saga B. will play against Saitama Broncos and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
