Leading Gipuzkoa (5-2) recorded its second loss in San Sebastian. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Palma (5-2) 78-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa. Palma brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian-Croatian forward Boris Barac (205-92, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Alex Hernandez (190-93) accounted for 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Palma players scored in double figures. American point guard Reed Timmer (185-95, college: Drake) came up with 15 points and Latvian center Davis Rozitis (215-90, college: Hawaii) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Gipuzkoa in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Palma. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Delteco GBC. Palma will play against Magia Huesca (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gipuzkoa will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#6) in Lugo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
