Regular Season Round 10: Vilpas - Korihait 92-77

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Korihait (0-10) lost to first ranked Vilpas (9-1) in Salo 77-92 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Vilpas. Korihait was better in second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Vilpas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Tim Coleman (196-95, college: NJIT) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward DJ Laster (198-96, college: Gardner-Webb) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Casey Benson (190-95, college: GCU) replied with 17 points and 6 assists and forward Henri Ventoniemi (208-95, college: W.Florida, agency: Players Group) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Korihait. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vilpas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Korihait at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Vilpas will face Ura Basket (#10) in Kaarina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Korihait will play at home against the league's second-placed Seagulls and hopes to get finally their first victory.
