There was no surprise in Yingkou where Flying Leopards (0-2) were defeated by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (2-0) 103-90 on Monday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Flying Leopards turnovers. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Flying Leopards were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Taiwanese forward Cheng Liu (192-90) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Jinqiu Hu (208-97) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. American swingman Lance Stephenson (196-90, college: Cincinnati) produced 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the former international center Dejun Han (215-89) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Flying Leopards' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face Xinjiang Flying Tige (#7) in Urumqi in the next round where they are favorite. Flying Leopards will play at home against Leopards (#18) and hope to win that game.
