We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Sao Paulo where 9th ranked Minas (3-5) was defeated by tenth ranked Paulistano (3-2) 80-76. It was a good game for international point guard Yago Santos (178-99) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Center Dikembe Andre (206-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Paulistano's coach Regis Marrelli allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international guard Leandro Barbosa (190-82) replied with 21 points and 5 assists and American power forward Devon Scott (206-94, college: Philander Smith) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Minas. Four Minas players scored in double figures. Paulistano moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Pinheiros and Brasilia. Minas at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Paulistano's next round opponent will be Brasilia (#7) at home.
