Regular Season Round 6: Rio Claro - Corinthians 73-82
Date: November 5, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Rio Claro (2-6) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Corinthians (4-3) 82-73. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-23 Rio Claro's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 82-73 at the end of the game. Corinthians players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for Bahamas David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Felipe Vezaro (193-92, college: Texas A&M Int.) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian point guard Fabian Sahdi (186-89) replied with 22 points and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Rio Claro. Four Rio Claro players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Corinthians have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Rio Claro lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
