There was no surprise in Ramat Hasharon where Hasharon (0-2) was defeated by Ironi Ashkelon (2-0) 93-84 on Tuesday. Ironi Ashkelon made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American-Armenian forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Polish guard Gal Gilinski (195-95) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and center Moti Moscovitz (204-85) added 16 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Ironi Ashkelon and five Hasharon players scored in double figures. Ironi Ashkelon will face H.Ramat Gan (#6) in Givataim in the next round where they are favorite. Hasharon will play on the road against Netanya (#10) and hope to win that game.
