Regular Season Round 8: Sokol Lancut - GKS Tychy 89-103

Undefeated Sokol Lancut (5-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked GKS Tychy (4-4) 103-89. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sokol Lancut. GKS Tychy made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Sokol Lancut turnovers. Sokol Lancut was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Michal Jankowski (191-87) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Kacper Majka (183-97) supported him with 23 points and 5 assists. Even 16 points and 5 assists by guard Mariusz Konopatzki (192-96, agency: Alti Sport) did not help to save the game for Sokol Lancut. Power forward Maciej Klima (203-82) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Five GKS Tychy and four Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. Sokol Lancut's coach Dariusz Kaszowski rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GKS Tychy moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Pruszkow. Sokol Lancut at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. GKS Tychy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sokol Lancut will play on the road against the league's second-placed STK Czarni and will have a slim chance for a victory.
