Regular Season Round 10: Seagulls - Pyrinto 103-89 OT

Pyrinto (#6) forced the game against Seagulls (#2) into an overtime, but lost by fourteen points 89-103 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Seagulls. Pyrinto was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Pyrinto used huge pressure winning it 22-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-17. Seagulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists. International Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valpo) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Khalil Small (188-95, college: Green Bay) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international point guard Antero Lehto (185-84) added 19 points in the effort for Pyrinto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Seagulls maintains second position with 8-2 record behind leader Vilpas. Pyrinto at the other side keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Seagulls will face bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in Uusikaupunki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pyrinto will play at home against Kobrat (#11) and hope to win that game.
