Regular Season Round 6: COR Victoria - BDU Tsmoki 74-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked BDU Tsmoki's (1-4) road loss to sixth ranked BrGU COR Victoria (2-2) in Brest 65-74. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-7. But BDU Tsmoki won third quarter 24-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BrGU COR Victoria won last quarter 25-17. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BDU Tsmoki to just 7 points in first quarter. BrGU COR Victoria forced 27 BDU Tsmoki turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including a 26-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. BDU Tsmoki was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Anastasia Babak (179-2) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Daria Panasyuk (176-96) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Aleksandra Iakubovich (169-3) with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and center Anastasia Synelshchykova (190-1) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BrGU COR Victoria moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted BDU Tsmoki keeps the seventh position with four games lost. BrGU COR Victoria will play against RGUOR (#6) in Minsk in the next round. BDU Tsmoki will play at home against Olimpia to get more than just one victory in their record.
