Regular Season Round 6: Thor AK - Keflavik 80-95

Dominos League top team - Keflavik (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Thor AK (0-6) in Akureyri 95-80. It looked good early as Thor AK took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Keflavik had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Thor AK was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-95. They outrebounded Thor AK 46-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Keflavik players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Thor AK's players. Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and American guard Khalil Ahmad (193, college: CS Fullerton) supported him with 30 points. Five Keflavik players scored in double figures. Even 30 points and 5 steals by Spanish-Colombian point guard Hansel Atencia (178-97, college: Master's, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Thor AK. American guard Jamal Palmer (188-97, college: Lynn) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Keflavik have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Newly promoted Thor AK still closes the standings with six games lost. Keflavik will play against KR (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Thor AK will play on the road against Njardvik (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
