Regular Season Round 17: Miami Heat - Phoenix Suns 124-108

Very significant was Heat's (#1, 6-2) victory against 3rd placed Suns (5-3) 124-108. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Suns. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Heat made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Jimmy Butler (201-89, college: Marquette) who scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Slovenian point guard Goran Dragic (190-86) chipped in 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Devin Booker (198-96, college: Kentucky) produced 22 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Spanish guard Ricky Rubio (193-90) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Heat maintains first place with 6-2 record, which they share with Milwaukee B. Loser Suns dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Houston R. and Utah Jazz. Heat will meet at home league's leader Lakers in the next day and it will be for sure the game of the week. Suns will have a break next day.
