Regular Season Round 18: Miami Heat - LA Lakers 80-95

There was a small surprise in Miami where first ranked Lakers (7-1) won against their close opponent Heat (6-3) 95-80 on Friday. Lakers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Heat's 44. They outrebounded Heat 48-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. Lakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and LeBron James (203-84) chipped in 25 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Slovenian point guard Goran Dragic (190-86) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Jimmy Butler (201-89, college: Marquette) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Heat players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lakers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record which they share with defeated Heat. Loser Heat still keeps top place with three games lost.
