Second-ranked Vera (3-2) fell to sixth ranked Batumi (3-2) in overtime by three points 79-82 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 23-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-6. Batumi forced 19 Vera turnovers. Vera was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian center Nikola Vujovic (210-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Collin Malcolm (201-97, college: Warner Pacific) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Batumi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with TSU and Vera. Batumi will face league's leader BC Titebi in Tbilisi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vera will play at home against the league's second-placed TSU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
