Regular Season Round 8: Chalons-Reims - Boulazac 100-89

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Boulazac Basket (4-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Chalons-Reims (4-4) 100-89. They made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Chalons-Reims outrebounded Boulazac Basket 41-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. The winners were led by point guard Jean-Baptiste Maille (189-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists and American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Wasserman) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by center Alpha Kaba (208-96) did not help to save the game for Boulazac Basket. Chalons-Reims moved-up to eighth place. Boulazac Basket at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Chalons-Reims' next round opponent will be higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (#7) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Boulazac Basket will play against Limoges CSP Elite and hope to win that game.
