The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Trail Blazers' (3-6) road loss to fourth ranked Nets (4-4) 115-119 on Friday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nets made 9 blocks. Trail Blazers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Spencer Dinwiddie (198-93, college: Colorado) scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Australian-American guard Kyrie Irving (190-92, college: Duke) chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists during the contest. Four Nets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) with 60 points (!!!) and 5 assists (went 15 for 15 at the free throw line !!!) and center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Nets moved-up to second place, which they share with Charlotte H. Trail Blazers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with six games lost.
