The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Mavericks (5-3) in New York City on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Knicks (2-7) 106-102. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mavericks. Forward Marcus Morris (206-89, college: Kansas) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Julius Randle (206-94, college: Kentucky) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Knicks players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) with a triple-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 10 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (221-95) scored 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Mavericks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Knicks maintains fifth position with 2-7 record, which they share with Golden St.W. Mavericks at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Knicks will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mavericks will play at home against Grizzlies and are hoping to win this game.
