Undefeated leader Castors Braine delivered the ninth consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Tulikivi (3-4) 100-48 in Deerlijk. Castors Braine dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tulikivi's 26. Castors Braine forced 20 Tulikivi turnovers and outrebounded them 41-22 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Castors Braine shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. Ukrainian forward Olesia Malashenko (191-91, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and British forward Chantelle Handy (188-87, college: Marshall, agency: Two Points) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was guard Eva Devliegher (172-96) with 5 points and 9 rebounds and Lisa Foucart (170-92) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Castors Braine. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Tulikivi lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with four games lost. Castors Braine will meet Kangoeroes (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tulikivi will play against Liege and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
