Regular Season Round 5: Fos-Provence - Nantes 64-67
Date: November 8, 2019
Bottom-ranked Provence Basket (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fifth ranked Nantes (4-1) 67-64 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Tunisian Mourad El-Mabrouk (194-86) chipped in 16 points. Cameroonian center Junior MBida (206-90) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Tunisian Makram Ben-Romdhane (205-89) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Nantes keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Provence Basket still closes the standings with five games lost. Nantes will meet at home Aix-Maurienne (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Provence Basket will play against the league's leader Denain Voltaire and hopes to get finally their first victory.
