Regular Season Round 8: AZS PCz - Unia Tarnow 112-61

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Unia Tarnow (0-8) was smashed by fifth ranked AZS PCz (5-2) in Czestochowa 112-61 on Saturday. AZS PCz dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Unia Tarnow's 42. AZS PCz forced 25 Unia Tarnow turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Unia Tarnow's players. Piotr Lucka (194-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Swingman Przemyslaw Laszewski (194-90) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Blazej Karlik (192-97) replied with 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jakub Iskra (189-1) added 14 points in the effort for Unia Tarnow. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS PCz moved-up to fourth place in Group C, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. Loser Unia Tarnow still closes the standings with eight games lost. AZS PCz will face UR Krakow (#8) at home in the next round. Unia Tarnow will play against the league's second-placed AZS AGH KR (#2) in Krakow and hopes to get finally their first victory.
