Regular Season Round 8: Benidorm - L'Alfas 77-73

Very expected game when 9th ranked L'Alfas (1-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Benidorm (4-4) 77-73 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Benidorm made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Uruguayan forward Santiago Ramirez (198-93) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Miguel Ortin (172-98) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Senegalese center Mouhamed Sow (209-1) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 19 rebounds and forward Damian Jimenez (198-86) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Benidorm have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group E-B with 4-4 record having just two points less than leader Tarragona, which they share with Jairis. Loser L'Alfas dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Benidorm will face league's leader Alginet at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. L'Alfas will play against UCAM Murcia II (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
