Regular Season Round 9: Dax-Gamarde - Vanves 66-64

Thirteenth-ranked Vanves (1-7) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Dax-Gamarde (5-4) in Gamarde les Bains on Saturday. Dax-Gamarde managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Xane dAlmeida (181-83) who scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Auston Calhoun (201-90, college: Bowling Green) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Raphael Desroses (199-80) who recorded 16 points and swingman Anis Gabsi (198-93) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Vanves' coach Sylvain Mousseau tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dax-Gamarde moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Caen and Challans. Vanves at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Dax-Gamarde will face La Rochelle (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vanves will play against JSA Bordeaux and hope to win that game.
