Regular Season Round 8: Tabirako - Mondragon 86-64

There was an upset in Durango where higher ranked Mondragon (4-2) was rolled over by eleventh ranked Tabirako (3-4) 86-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Miguel Zamora (189-93) who scored 20 points. Point guard Markel Mendive (174-99) chipped in 20 points. Power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Andoni Atxa (195-99) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tabirako moved-up to ninth place in Group A-A, which they share with Baskonia. Loser Mondragon keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Tabirako will face Filipenses (#13) in Palencia in the next round. Mondragon will play at home against Nissan Burgos (#8) and hope to win that game.
