Regular Season Round 8: Easo - Filipenses 103-36

No shocking result in a game in San Sebastian where third ranked Easo (6-1) smashed 12th ranked Filipenses (1-5) 103-36 on Saturday. Easo dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Filipenses' 24 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Filipenses only scored six points from the stripe. Easo forced 19 Filipenses turnovers and outrebounded them 46-15 including a 33-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Filipenses' players. Filipenses was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Inigo Sarasola (207-95) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Mikel Esnaola (200-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 14 points. Four Easo players scored in double figures. Easo's coach Gotzon Arrieta felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Forward Ruben Gonzalez (192-96) produced 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jaime Fernandez (190-76) added 7 points respectively for the guests. Easo maintains third position in Group A-A with 6-1 record behind leader Tarragona. Filipenses lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. Easo will face league's second-placed Solares on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Filipenses will play against Tabirako (#10) and hope to win that game.
