Regular Season Round 6: Los Leones - CDU Concepcion 109-104

Liga Nacional round 6 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Universidad de Concepcion (3-1) against second ranked Los Leones (4-1) 109-104 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Universidad de Concepcion. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Los Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Darnell Dodson (201-89, college: S.Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Evandro Arteaga (178-83) contributed with 28 points for the winners. American center Steven Toyloy (203-87, college: Cincinnati) replied with 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import center Stanley Robinson (206-88, college: Connecticut) added 25 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Universidad de Concepcion. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Los Leones have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with CD Castro. Universidad de Concepcion at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Puente Alto. They were replaced at the leadership position by Los Leones. Universidad de Concepcion will play next round against strong Universidad Catolica trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Los Leones will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Temuco at home.
