Regular Season Round 7: Politechn.Gd. - Arka Gdynia 52-85

Everything went according to plan when leader Arka Gdynia (10-0) outscored on the road 8th ranked Politechnika Gdanska (5-5) 85-52 on Saturday. Arka Gdynia dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Politechnika Gdanska's 26 and made 29-of-33 free shots (87.9 percent) during the game, while Politechnika Gdanska only scored eight points from the stripe. Arka Gdynia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Politechnika Gdanska was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Slovakian Angelika Slamova (172-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Belarusian forward Maryia Papova (188-94) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side French Alice Nayo (186-93) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Presley Hudson (168-97, college: Cent Michigan, agency: Two Points) scored 9 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Arka Gdynia. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Loser Politechnika Gdanska dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Arka Gdynia will face Sleza Wroclaw (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Politechnika Gdanska will play against Widzew and hope to win that game.
