Regular Season Round 26: Cimarrones - Titanes 61-69

LPB top team - Titanes (18-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Cimarrones (7-15) in Quibdo-Choco 69-61. Titanes dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Cimarrones' 20. American-Dominican swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) notched 23 points to lead the effort and naturalized Venezuelan forward Eduardo Torres (195-81) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by Argentinian forward Jose Materan-Suarez (200-96) did not help to save the game for Cimarrones. Venezuelan point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-94) added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Cimarrones' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Titanes have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-4 record. Cimarrones lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Titanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cimarrones will play at home against Piratas (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
