Regular Season Round 16: Fukushima - Nishinomiya S. 88-83

Fourth defeat of league's leader Nishinomiya S. (12-4) against third ranked Fukushima (7-7) 88-83 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nishinomiya S.. Fukushima shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Guard Dai Suzuki (183-90) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Fukushima players scored in double figures. American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Atsuki Kishida (175-97) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Nishinomiya S.Nishinomiya S.'s coach Mathias Fischer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fukushima maintains third position with 7-7 record having nine points less than leader Gunma. Nishinomiya S. at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with Gunma. They were replaced at the leadership position by Gunma. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Fukushima will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo.
