Regular Season Round 6: Napfliou - Agriniou 96-80

Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Agriniou (4-1). They were defeated by twelfth ranked Napfliou (2-3) 96-80 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Agriniou. Napfliou dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Agriniou's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) scored 27 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Fanis Koumpouras (185-83) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Napfliou's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was French guard Kevin Franceschi (191-93, college: Oklah.Baptist) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Antonis Mihaloglou scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Napfliou moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Anatolia and Eleftheroupoli. Agriniou at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Olympiacos B. They were replaced at the leadership position by Charilaos TM. Agriniou will play next round against Amyntas D. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Napfliou will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Karditsas on the road.
