Very important is a road loss of second ranked Aisin AW (9-4) against fifth ranked Tokyo HT (8-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Aisin AW was defeated by Tokyo HT in Tokyo 77-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aisin AW. American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) nailed 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds. American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Senegalese forward Assane Diop (197-92, college: Austin Peay) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Aisin AW in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tokyo HT have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 8-6 record. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Iwate Big Bulls. Tokyo HT will again play against league's second-placed Aisin AW in Aichi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aisin AW will have a break next round.
