Regular Season Round 8: Moycullen - Neptune 68-71

Important game to mention about took place in Galway. Third ranked Neptune (5-2) saved a 3-point derby victory on the road edging 11th ranked Moycullen (2-6) 71-68 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Neptune dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Moycullen's 28. Neptune had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and guard Gerard Noonan (180-82) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Neptune players scored in double figures. American guard Grant Olsson (196, college: Lincoln, MO) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds and the former international guard Dylan Cunningham (195-91) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Neptune keeps a position of league leader, which they share with UCD Marian and Eanna. Loser Moycullen dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Neptune will face DCU Saints (#8) in Dublin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Moycullen will play at home against Templeogue and hope to win that game.
