Regular Season Round 8: Almansa - Valladolid 67-64

The most exciting game of round 8 in the LEB Gold took place in Almansa. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Carramimbre (6-2) to sixteenth ranked Almansa (2-6) 67-64 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Carramimbre. Almansa dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Carramimbre's 14. 24 personal fouls committed by Carramimbre helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was British forward Rowell Graham (197-94) who scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-88, college: Akron) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Almansa players scored in double figures. American guard Frank Bartley-IV (190-94, college: La-Lafayette) produced 19 points and American-Italian swingman Niksha Federico (201-95, college: Hawaii Pacific, agency: Two Points) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Almansa maintains sixteenth position with 2-6 record. Carramimbre at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Delteco GBC and Palma. Almansa are looking forward to face higher ranked Caceres Basket (#10) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Carramimbre will play against Castello (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
