Regular Season Round 8: Adepla - Utrera 88-79

There was a minor upset in Plasencia where 6th ranked Utrera (2-4) was defeated by eighth ranked Adepla (2-3) 88-79 on Saturday. Adepla shot 63.3 percent from the field. Utrera was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ernest Maize (203-94, college: Philander Smith) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Pablo Bayle (188-87) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Guard Andres Tejada (195-98) produced 20 points and power forward Francisco-Javier Marquez (203-99) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Five Adepla and four Utrera players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Adepla moved-up to sixth place in Group D-B. Utrera lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Adepla will face higher ranked Dos Hermanas (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
