Spirou Charleroi has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Leuven, where they defeated Leuven Bears (2-4) 91-83 on Saturday. Spirou Charleroi made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Alexandre Libert (191-90) who helped to win the game recording 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American center Josh Sharma (213-95, college: Stanford) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Spirou Charleroi players scored in double figures. Spirou Charleroi's coach Pascal Angillis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Hugh Robertson (195-89, college: S.Florida) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Joshua Heath (188-94, college: Georgia Tech) scored 17 points and 7 assists. Spirou Charleroi maintains ninth position with 1-5 record. Leuven Bears at the other side keep the eighth place with four games lost. Spirou Charleroi are looking forward to face higher ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#4) in Jemappes in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Leuven Bears will play at home against Antwerp Giants (#3) and are hoping to win this game.
