Regular Season Round 9: Iskra Svit - Prievidza 85-93

An interesting game for Prievidza (5-2) which played road game in Svit against 4th placed Iskra Svit (4-4). Third ranked Prievidza managed to get a 8-point victory 93-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Iskra Svit. They outrebounded Iskra Svit 37-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Prievidza players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Iskra Svit's players. Bosnian power forward Ibrahim Durmo (200-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Prievidza players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Jalen Nesbitt (198-93, college: N.Florida) with 27 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Phil Carr (203-95, college: Morgan St.) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Prievidza maintains third place with 5-2 record behind leader Inter Bratislava. Iskra Svit at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Levice. Prievidza will play against Levice (#6) on the road in the next round. Iskra Svit will play against the league's leader Inter Bratislava and hopes to get back on the winning track.
