Regular Season Round 9: Nova Ves - Handlova 85-87

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to seventh ranked Handlova (3-5) 87-85 on Saturday evening. Handlova shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The former international Tomas Mrvis (200-91, agency: 011 Sports) nailed 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Bosnian Aleksandar Radukic (206-91, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian guard Justus Alleyn (188-95, college: Manitoba) came up with 29 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard Eric Nottage (187-94, college: FIU, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) added 12 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively for Nova Ves in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Handlova maintains seventh place with 3-5 record. Loser Nova Ves still closes the standings with eight games lost. Handlova will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nova Ves will play against the league's second-placed Zilina (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
