Regular Season Round 20: Santos - Capitanes 83-88

Very expected game in San Luis Potosi where 7th ranked Santos (7-12) were defeated by third ranked Capitanes (13-4) 88-83 on Saturday. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Santos' 30. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Joel James (208-94, college: UNC) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Panamanian forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. American center BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Raymond Cintron-Cortes (183-90, college: MTSU) scored 18 points. Five Capitanes and four Santos players scored in double figures. Santos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitanes moved-up to second place. Santos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Capitanes will face Astros (#5) in the next round. Santos will play against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
