Regular Season Round 8: Eanna - Belfast Star 71-84

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Eanna (5-2) in Dublin on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Belfast Star (5-3) 84-71. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Eanna outrebounded Belfast Star 44-21 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ben Marello (198-95, college: Florida Southern, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Christopher Fulton (172-2) who added 25 points and 8 assists during the contest. Serbian forward Stefan Zecevic (196-93, college: Keiser) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian forward Marko Tomic (201, college: Barry) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Belfast Star moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Killester and Tralee. Newly promoted Eanna still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Neptune and UCD Marian. Belfast Star is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Dublin L. (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eanna's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena UCD Marian.
