Everything went according to plan when second ranked Valencia-2 (5-1) won against at home 6th ranked Picken Claret (1-5) 85-79 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Valencia-2 outrebounded Picken Claret 43-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Millan Jimenez (198-2) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Alejandro Rivas (203-98) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Valencia-2's coach Angel Cepeda allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Eloi Barrasa produced 17 points and Juan Bermejo added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Valencia-2 and five Picken Claret players scored in double figures. Valencia-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group E-A leader, which they share with Lliria and Castello II. Newly promoted Picken Claret keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Valencia-2 will face Paterna (#4) on the road in the next round. Picken Claret will play against Tabernes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
