Everything could happen in Lugo at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Estudiantes L. and bottom-ranked Zamora had identical 0-5 record. This time Estudiantes L. used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Zamora 89-67 on Sunday night. They outrebounded Zamora 52-28 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Estudiantes L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Zamora's players. The best player for the winners was Gabriel Gomez (195-95) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Estudiantes L. and five Zamora players scored in double figures. Estudiantes L. (1-5) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in Group A-B, which they share with Betanzos. It was Zamora's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Estudiantes L. will face higher ranked Gijon Basket (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zamora will play against Fontedoso Carrefour (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
