We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Aishin Sea Horses (3-11) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Shimane Magic (5-9) 81-76 on Sunday. Shimane Magic looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Shimane Magic's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Kumagai Kumagai (173-96) scored 12 points and 8 assists. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic moved-up to third place, which they share with Niigata A. and Shiga L-Stars. Aishin Sea Horses lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Shimane Magic will face Akita Happinets (#4) on the road in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
