Regular Season Round 7: Gorizont II - Victoria 59-63

Bottom-ranked Gorizont II (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Victoria (4-2) 63-59. It looked good early as Gorizont II took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Victoria took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. They also forced 23 Gorizont II turnovers. Victoria brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Gorizont II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for center Irina Grigorieva (193-1) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Irina Kravchenko (182-1) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Ekaterina Yalchik (174-0) came up with 11 points, 7 assists and 7 steals and forward Daria Syamiletnikava (182-1) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Gorizont II in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Victoria maintains fourth place with 4-2 record. Gorizont II lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Victoria will play against league's leader Gorizont in Minsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gorizont II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk BDU Tsmoki.
