Regular Season Round 6: MuKi - HBA-Marsky 75-90

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Helsinki: HBA-Marsky (#2) and MuKi (#4). MuKi was defeated at home 75-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 46-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. HBA-Marsky dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to MuKi's 32. HBA-Marsky forced 23 MuKi turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when HBA-Marsky made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was Mustapha Amzil (202-1) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Thomas Exaucia (194-1) chipped in 8 points and 12 rebounds. Four HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Cedric Latimer (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Joonas Timonen (189-0) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. HBA-Marsky maintains second position in Division with 5-0 record behind leader Korikouvot. Loser MuKi dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. HBA-Marsky will meet at home league's leader Korikouvot in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MuKi will play against Kristika Turku (#9) in Turun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
