Regular Season Round 6: Ura Basket II - HyPo 77-105

Very expected game in Kaarina where bottom-ranked Ura Basket II (0-6) was crushed by sixth ranked HyPo (4-3) 105-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Ura Basket II was better in fourth quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ura Basket II 45-30 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for HyPo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Niki Juntunen (188-1) scored 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Toni Honka (193-84) chipped in 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Lauri Hanninen (187-2) with 22 points and forward Reko Laine (194-99) scored 18 points. Ura Basket II's coach Jukka Valpola gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. HyPo moved-up to fifth place in Division. Loser Ura Basket II still closes the standings with six games lost. HyPo will face Namika Lr (#9) in Lappeenranta in the next round. Ura Basket II will play on the road against PuHu Juniorit in Vantaa and hopes to get finally their first victory.
