Regular Season Round 8: Cantu - Virtus Roma 74-76

A very interesting game took place in Cantu. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Cantu (3-4) to twelfth ranked Virtus Roma (4-4) 76-74 on Sunday evening. American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American-Portuguese Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) replied with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Corban Collins (190-94, college: Alabama) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Cantu. Four Cantu players scored in double figures. Cantu's coach Cesare Pancotto rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Virtus Roma moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Venezia and Fortitudo BO. Cantu at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Virtus Roma's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Pesaro (#17) at home and are hoping to win another game. Cantu will play against Pistoia (#16) and hope to win that game.
